Ah, Thanksgiving. It’s a celebration that always brings to mind family gatherings, friendly games of…
Air pollution. Threatened wild life. Climate change.
With so many environmental issues in the news each day, the NIU Newsroom asked university faculty members with expertise on the environment for their opinion: What are among the most pressing environmental issues of our times?
The five faculty who responded in the accompanying video are Eric Zeemering in public administration, Reed Scherer in geology, Anna Klis in economics, Aaron Deslatte in public administration and Holly Jones in biological sciences. While they represent diverse academic disciplines, all are associates of NIU’s Institute for the Study of the Environment, Sustainability, and Energy.
Their responses reflect expertise on topics ranging from climate change and urbanization to overfishing and species extinction.
