Deborah Riddell is a pioneer and champion when it comes to women’s health. An assistant clinical professor of NIU’s Graduate School of Nursing, Riddell has over three decades of experience as a clinician and educator, and is credited with bringing nurse midwifery to communities and hospitals where it didn’t exist.
Riddell is a recognized expert in women’s health and health care ethical issues and was the founder of one of the few nurse-owned private practices for women in the state of Illinois. She has been featured in newspaper, radio and cable television. Riddell earned her undergraduate degree from NIU and a master’s and doctorate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
